Wall Tie
Foundation Wall Anchors & Wall Tie Systems
Wall anchors, also known as wall ties or earth anchors, offer a highly effective way to stabilize bowing or leaning foundation walls by connecting them to stable soil located well away from the foundation. Keystone Foundation Repair has installed wall tie systems in homes and commercial properties across the region, providing reliable, lasting results even in challenging soil conditions.
Is your foundation wall bowing or leaning? The sooner you act, the more solutions are available to you.
See What’s Causing the MovementHow Wall Tie and Earth Anchor Systems Stabilize Foundation Walls
A wall anchor system works by drilling a rod through the foundation wall and out into stable soil beyond the zone of active pressure, typically 8–10 feet away from the foundation. A plate anchor is buried in the stable soil and a wall plate is installed on the interior surface. The two are connected by the rod, which is then tightened to apply counter-pressure against the inward movement of the wall.
Over time, as the soil settles and the system is periodically tightened, wall anchors can restore bowed walls back toward their original position. This system is particularly effective in yards where there is sufficient open space to place the exterior anchors.

Is a Wall Anchor System Right for Your Foundation?
Wall tie systems are best suited for properties that have adequate yard space to install the exterior anchors, typically at least 8 to 10 feet of open ground adjacent to the affected wall. They are an excellent option when:
- The wall has moderate to significant inward bowing
- Excavation for exterior waterproofing or bracing is impractical
- A long-term gradual restoration plan is desired
The homeowner wants a minimally invasive interior repair.
